Super Eagles Bag Nervy Draw Vs Cape Verde, Reach 2022 WCQ Playoff Round

The Super Eagles zoomed into the Playoff Round of the 2022 FIFA World Cup after they were held to a 1-1 draw by the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos on Tuesday, Completesports.com reports.

Victor Osimhen put Nigeria ahead in the first minute, tucking home Moses Simon’s corner kick.

The hosts’ lead lasted five minutes with Stopira equalising for the Blue Sharks.

It was all Super Eagles afterwards with Alex Iwobi coming close with a fine effort on 11 minutes.

Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi was shown the first yellow card of the game on 16 minute for a rough tackle.

Odion Ighalo fluffed a great opportunity on the hour mark as he failed to connect clearly after he was set up by Jamilu Collins.

Two minutes later, Josimar Dias, in goal for Cape Verde, produced a fine save to deny Joe Aribo.

Josimar also denied Moses Simon in the 39th minute tipping over his goal bound cross from a freekick.

The goalkeeper was also on hand to stop Osimhen’s header from going in a minute later.

The pattern of play continued after the break with the Super Eagles in total control.

Maduka Okoye had to be alert to deny the Blue Sharks a goal scoring opportunity in the 56th minute.

Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr made a tactical substitution in the 67th minute replacing injured Simon with Shehu Abdullahi.

Nigeria made a double substitution in the 77th minute with Kelechi Iheanacho and Frank Onyeka replacing Ighalo and Aribo, tespectively..

Leon Balogun was booked four minutes from time for a dangerous challenge.

Genk forward Paul Onuachu took the place of Osimhen with a minute remaining on the clock.

The Super Eagles finished top of Group C with 13 points, two more than there Blue Sharks.

Grassroot Boxing Talent Hunt: 20 Talented Students Discovered At Community Secondary School Amagunze, Enugu

Mazi Okoronwko, Ex international boxer and Ambassador of sports in boxing has successfully carried out another massive grassroot boxing talent hunt exercise.

The hunting exercise which was carried out on Tuesday, 30 Nov, 2021 at Community secondary school Amagunze Nkanu East LGA Enugu State lead to the discovery of 20 talented youths set to be prepared for further training to perfect the already discovered skills.

Speaking to Chrysora Media after the hunting session in the community school, Mazi Okoronkwo was pleased to announce that the Southeast has produced the “Iron Girl” that will rule her weight division in boxing as the Queen Of The Ring in the future.

According to Mazi Comr Ikechukwu Okoronkwo the Sports Ambassador assertion in the interview after the exercise, Miss Nworie Mmasichukwu whom he calculated to be an iron queen of the Boxing ring will rule the world of female boxing in future if enable Environment is created for her to climb the hill of victory.

On interacting with more students and teachers of Community Secondary School Amagunze, Chrysora Media learnt that the students and teachers who were witnesses to Mazi Okoronkwo’s boxing talent hunt exercise were all delighted and prayed for sound mind and body on the Ex international boxer, Mazi Ikechukwu Okoronkwo.

About 35 Students have been discovered from Ohodo Community for further development in the field of Boxing during the grassroot boxing talent hunt conducted by Mazi Ikechukwu Okoronkwo.
The boxing talent hunt which was championed by the Nigeria Ex International boxer, Mazi Okoronkwo at Ohodo Community in Igboetiti LGA of Enugu state on Friday, 26th November, 2021 turns out to be a huge success as 35 Students were selected for further training and Development in boxing.
