The Supreme Council for Sharia in Nigeria (SCSN) Kaduna State chapter, has called on the federal government to regulate the sales of SIM cards in the country.

The secretary of the council, Sheikhs Abdulkareem Hashim Bindawa made the call while briefing newsmen in Kaduna, yesterday.

According to him, the regulation in sales of sim cards will help in fighting any criminal acts because if anyone commits any crime, they will be easily located.

“Having at least three sim cards per person will aid in tracing any kind of criminality which might occur in the state and country at large.”

Sheikh Hashim said the call was necessary because the council is disturbed with the rise in bandits attack on some local governments within the state.

The local governments which include Igabi, Kajuru, Chikun, Giwa and Birnin gwari have been faced with crises which has forced most of the people in the communities to relocate to other places.

The Council, however, called on the government to provide the security agencies with sophisticated weapons which will be used in fighting criminals in the state and country because the bandits according to reports have more sophisticated weapons than the securities in the country.

The Council also called on the general public to repent from sinful acts by praying to Almighty Allah for forgiveness so that all the crises happening in the country will be wiped off by the Almighty.

The villages should also make local arrangements to establish the vigilante groups because it will help in reducing banditry within communities. He said.
