Armed Men Exchange Fire With Security Forces In Anambra (Videos)
Unidentified armed men engaged the security forces in a shootout yesterday in the university town of Uli, Ihiala LGA of Anambra State. The youths who were armed with automatic rifles and riding on motorcycles and in a Sienna car, confronted the security forces in a shootout that lasted for hours according to several eyewitness reports.
According a Facebook user who is an eyewitness, Nwa Nnaemeka, Uli has been on fire.
His Facebook post read
Uli a town in Anambra state and home for the first campus of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) has been on fire and nobody is doing anything about it.
The issue of insecurity in Uli has become something of grave concern to all well-meaning Students and indigenes of the town most of who continue to wonder how the town arrived at such a dastardly situation where no one is safe; and worse still, rather than abate, the problem is escalating and now totally out of control.
I call on the state government, the Vice chancellor of the school and Uli town Union to come up with a drastic measures to tackle insecurities in this town as it is now a threat to students lives.
