I believe that one of ways to solve the issue of sponsorship of team Nigeria Boxers to International Boxing event under NBF project is to honestly seek help from some of our powerful ex international Boxers from Nigeria that have passion for development of team Nigeria Boxers. (They should know the better way to solve this problem)
Because there is money in Nigerian system but i don’t understand the reasons for this complaint of lack of Money to sponsor boxers.
It is wrong for Nigerian Government especially from the Ministry of Sports to expect members of Nigeria Boxing Federation to bring their personal money to sponsor boxing after spending huge money to win board election.
The question I am tempted to asked is whether other Government offices occupied by individuals after spending private money to win election are run also by private money of those who won election?
If the answer is yes then there is no need to invest in Federation board election.
Instead interested persons should rather spend that money to sponsor team Nigeria in at least one international boxing outing for charity.
It will be well appreciated by our young children and officials
It is a shame for a whole Federal Fovernment of Nigeria to depend on private men money to run national affairs.
The only mistake is that NBF members could not summon courage to expose the truth to us on time about Africa boxing event.
I was told by some of NBF members that Team Nigeria must participate but now i can’t believe what i am reading from the media that Team Nigeria did not go.
God bless from Mazi Ikechukwu Okoronkwo
