“Southeast has remained the nation’s safest place for foreign and local investments. What is happening now is not strange as the UK Ambassador announced in his earlier warnings that Northern bandits were sponsored to the South, possibly to wreak havoc and tensions in the region.

“Our belief and suspicions were reinforced through evidences of serial attacks and violence perpetrated in our zone by ‘unknown gunmen’, a few weeks after UK’s warnings of exodus of Northern bandits heading towards South, with provocative agenda to inflict crisis, anarchy and promotion of civil disturbances, especially in the peaceful Southeast and South-South for political reasons.”

He called on President Muhammadu Buhari “to resist the temptation of military deployment to the South-East as the consequences might be disastrous and a preparatory ground for unending guerrilla activities or another avoidable war.

“Ndigbo has implicit confidence on ESN and Ebubeagu for self defense.

“Military must focus on the insurgency in the North and refuse to fight at all fronts at the same time. Ndigbo are emergency experts and any infiltration in the process of Igbo defensive mechanism might spell doom for Nigeria.

“Ndigbo don’t need military assistance now, except there are high level manipulations to destabilize and destroy our region for political purposes and deny Ndigbo presidency in 2023.”

Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, Secretary General, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, gave the caution in a statement he made available to DAILY POST on Sunday

“If the South East governors in collaboration with Ohanaeze Ndigbo and some “treacherous’ tradinonal rulers, and President Generals of some communities do not stop compiling names of suspected operatives of the Eastern Security Network, ESN as well as IPOB members and supporters for persecution, IPOB will make the zone too hot for them.”

IPOB in a statement by its Media and Publicity Secretary Emma Powerful, claimed that its intelligence unit uncovered “a secret file” containing the list of the suspected ESN and IPOB members.

The list according to the statement is to be handed over to the security agencies for torture and elimination.

IPOB which said the idea was suggested to South East Leaders by the federal government to weaken ESN regretted that efforts of the security outfit for flush out killer herdsmen from the zone were being sabotaged by the selfish political elite.

“IPOB and Kanu’s agitation is pointless and aimless; our people should ignore his lies.”

“Don’t listen to IPOB. Our young boys who are in IPOB were not there during the war, they never traveled. If you come to Adamawa, you go to Zwingina’s town or you go to Mubi, an extreme part of Adamawa, you will find our brothers and sisters who are doing well. Did IPOB ask them about their own choice? If you go to Oron which is the other extreme, you find Igbo people there doing well, IPOB did not ask them what they want.

“What IPOB is saying are all lies. Tell your children that the Igbos are happy all over the country. Nnamdi Kanu don’t know what he’s doing in IPOB. Someone who couldn’t finish his studies in England. Nnamdi Kanu failed in school, he couldn’t get a degree.

“Let nobody tell us lies or tell your children to go and join ESN. There’s no ESN. The Southeast governors have formed what they call Ebubeagu. If your vigilantes want to join, let them join Ebubeagu, don’t join ESN. If they want to join ESN, let their Commander, Nnamdi Kanu come home if it is true. Don’t allow him to take your children to where they will be killed because all he’s saying are lies,” Okechukwu cautioned.

The Director-General of Voice of Nigeria, VON, Osita Okechukwu issued the warning during a meeting organized by Chairman of the Enugu state membership registration and revalidation committee of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Jonathan Zwingina, on Thursday,
