Edo 2021 Sports Festival: Updates On Boxing That Started On Monday

Update of Boxing event that started since Monday 05/04/21.

Information reaching team Mazi Ikechukwu Okoronkwo is that

Israel Obodo of Enugu State have defeated his oponents in 54 kg ( bantam weight) in boxing contest to qualified to quarter finals).

16yrs old Chinaza Ikechukwu Okoronkwo of Abia State have also qualified to quarter finals in a boxing contest.

Boxers from Enugu State and Abia State is powering in National Sports Festival for Nigeria Unity.

Leicester City book their place in the FA Cup final against Chelsea as Kelechi Iheanacho’s second-half strike seals Wembley win over Southampton

Leicester City have reached their first FA Cup final since 1969 after Kelechi Iheanacho’s strike saw off Southampton at Wembley.

The striker converted from close range in the 55th minute after good work from Jamie Vardy set him up during a counter attack.

It is the fifth time the Foxes have reached the FA Cup final and they will now face Chelsea next month after the Blues defeated Manchester City in the other semi-final on Saturday.

Iheanacho’s strike was the 14th he has scored in this competition since 2015 and no player – not Sergio Aguero or Harry Kane – has scored more FA Cup goals during that time. The cup has become his playground.

Governor Ganduje of Kano state is set to unveil captain of the Super Eagles Ahmed Musa as Kano Pillars latest signing.

Musa started his football career with JUTH FC and subsequently loaned to Kano Pillars before sealing a deal with Dutch side VVV-Venlo at 17 years of age

In a tweet via their official handle on Wednesday, Kano Pillars confirmed the unveiling of the star will be done by the state governor before the second half of the league season.

“Kano State Governor, @GovUmarGanduje to unveils @Ahmedmusa718 before the commencement of the@LMCNPFL second stanza,” the tweet read.

The statement went further to say

“Free agent Ahmed Musa has agreed to a contract until the end of the Nigerian league season in June.”

The four-time Nigerian champions expressed their joy at having their export back at the club, promising their continuous support for the 28-year-old.

“Ahmed Musa is our own and Kano Pillars welcome him back and will continue to support him,” Pillars said.

Also welcoming the move by the 3-time Russian professional league champion to his former side was Senator Shehu Sani in a tweet, who lauded it as the “best strategy” to improve local football in the country.

Pillars are joint-leaders of the Nigeria Professional Football League halfway through the season with 36 points from 19 matches.

Abia State has won more medal. 5 Gold 4 Silver and 8 bronze at ongoing National sports Festival for Nigeria Unity at Edo State.

The above information was received this morning 12/04/21 at Nigeria ex International Boxer and Sport ambassador Mazi Ikechukwu Okoronkwo residence in Enugu during a telephone call with JP Isaac O Isaac who is the Director of Sports Abia State Sports Council live from Games village Edo State .

In a telephone call Mazi Ikechukwu Okoronkwo applauded the effort of JP Isaac O Isaac.( The Director of Sports )and Elder Friday Ikpeoha who is the administrative head .Ministry of Youth and Sports Development Abia State( Permanent Secretary of the Ministry) for deligent in service.

Indeed Abia State will move to greater height in youth and sports development Considering the coming together of experts from diverse sporting activities.

According to Mazi Ikechukwu Okoronkwo the record of what is happening at National sports Festival is the reflection of the past struggle and contribution..

Mazi Ikechukwu Okoronkwo commended the positive effort of Abia State sports stakeholders.
