Aminat Idrees, an eight months pregnant athlete, has won gold medal in taekwondo at the National Sports Festival (NSF).
The Lagos state athlete finished first in the mixed poomsae (demonstration) category in taekwondo.
In the poomsae female team event, she won silver and also an individual bronze medal in the same category.
Ukpereseraye Ese of Delta won her second gold of the festival in the women’s 100m cycling category. Tombrapa Gripa and Joke Durogbade claimed the silver and bronze for Edo and Oyo states respectively.
Salawudeen Afeez claimed Ogun state’s first gold medal after defeating Delta in taekwondo poomsae.
Agatha Obulor, a wicketkeeper for Edo, was the player of the match as the state female team won gold after defeating Lagos in the six aside cricket at Iyoba centre.
Lagos and Akwa Ibom won the silver and bronze medals respectively in the event.
Edo men’s team also won gold after defeating Kwara while Lagos clinched the bronze medal.
Both Delta and Bayelsa won a total of 13 medals in swimming.
Delta leads with seven gold, three silver, and three bronze, while Bayelsa recorded five gold, four silver and four bronze to place second on the medals table.

Leicester City have reached their first FA Cup final since 1969 after Kelechi Iheanacho’s strike saw off Southampton at Wembley.
The striker converted from close range in the 55th minute after good work from Jamie Vardy set him up during a counter attack.
It is the fifth time the Foxes have reached the FA Cup final and they will now face Chelsea next month after the Blues defeated Manchester City in the other semi-final on Saturday.
Iheanacho’s strike was the 14th he has scored in this competition since 2015 and no player – not Sergio Aguero or Harry Kane – has scored more FA Cup goals during that time. The cup has become his playground.

Governor Ganduje of Kano state is set to unveil captain of the Super Eagles Ahmed Musa as Kano Pillars latest signing.
Musa started his football career with JUTH FC and subsequently loaned to Kano Pillars before sealing a deal with Dutch side VVV-Venlo at 17 years of age
In a tweet via their official handle on Wednesday, Kano Pillars confirmed the unveiling of the star will be done by the state governor before the second half of the league season.
“Kano State Governor, @GovUmarGanduje to unveils @Ahmedmusa718 before the commencement of the@LMCNPFL second stanza,” the tweet read.
The statement went further to say
“Free agent Ahmed Musa has agreed to a contract until the end of the Nigerian league season in June.”
The four-time Nigerian champions expressed their joy at having their export back at the club, promising their continuous support for the 28-year-old.
“Ahmed Musa is our own and Kano Pillars welcome him back and will continue to support him,” Pillars said.
Also welcoming the move by the 3-time Russian professional league champion to his former side was Senator Shehu Sani in a tweet, who lauded it as the “best strategy” to improve local football in the country.
Pillars are joint-leaders of the Nigeria Professional Football League halfway through the season with 36 points from 19 matches.
Musa Made history by becoming the first Nigerian to score in two FIFA World Cup competitions after he scored twice against Iceland in the group stage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
