Angry mob set truck ablaze for allegedly crushing boy in Saki, Ogun
A truck has been set ablaze in Saki, a town in Oyo State for allegedly killing one person.
DAILY POST gathered that the truck which was conveying some cattle was burnt for allegedly killing a young boy in the town on Monday.
Our correspondent gathered from sources that the incident occurred at Challenge junction in Saki, Monday evening.
The victim, identified as Ayuba Raji was allegedly knocked down by the truck.
DAILY POST gathered that the truck was moving out of the town when the incident occurred.
Spokesman of Saki Town Development, Mr Adekunle Lawal who confirmed the incident, urged the contractors handling the Saki dual lane to do something about the road.
“Yesterday Monday, 11th of January 2021, lately around 10pm, an accident occurred at CHALLENGE junction which claimed the life of a boy Ayuba Raji, a younger brother to popular Yoruba presenter and musician Monsurat Raji. This young boy was riding a Boxer motorcycle and was hit by a truck transporting cows out of the Saki.
“Angry mobs set the truck ablaze before SAKIFIRST got in touch with the Police to avoid more damages. Over speeding and careless driving are what we know those cattle transporters for.
“It is now the right time for us to lead the FRSC for training on driving rules, a step we took last year before COVID-19 palava stopped us.
“We commiserate with the family of the deceased, the contractors need to do something urgently too. This is the second accident in just 3 months.”

There was mild drama and confusion on Saturday when President Muhammadu Buhari’s Minister, Rotimi Amaechi arrived with crutches at the airport for an event.
The senate President, Ahmed Lawan and Plateau State Governor, Solomon Lalong were surprised when the former governor of Rivers State arrived with clutches.
As at the time of filing this report, it’s still unclear why the Minister of Transportation is using clutches.
Recall that Amaechi had dared members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), to try him as he is not scared of them one bit.
Amaechi was reacting to the attack on Senator Ike Ekweremadu in Germany by IPOB members and the threat that they will continue to harass Nigerian politicians whenever they travel abroad.
But Amaechi said he is not afraid of traveling abroad, neither is he afraid of the IPOB members and their leader, Nnamdi Kanu as he is going to Geneva very soon and that if they want, they can wait for him there. He also added that he has other functions scheduled for him abroad and that he will surely honour all of them.
An 18-year-old, Ismaeel Abubakar, has been arrested by Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano command for allegedly defiling a 5-year-old girl (name withheld).
Abubakar of Kofar Ruwa quarters in Dala Local Government Area was arrested last Friday on the same day the crime was allegedly committed.
Confirming the incident, the spokesman of the state command of NSCDC, ASC Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi, said: “The 18yrs old Isma’eel confessed to the crime while being interrogated by the Corps detectives.
“Investigation into the case has since been concluded and the suspect will be charged to Senior magistrate Court, Filin Hockey in the metropolis by tomorrow, Thursday,” he added.
